10 Reasons Why Football
has become The King of Sports
Every player
contributes uniquely. This is the only sport in
which 35-40 players can play together to contribute
as teams but also as individuals.
The physical
demands of the sport are unmatched. They are very
akin to the discipline and demands of the armed
forces: go hard every day, get knocked down
but keep going!
Football teaches
you to be both a leader and a follower. You learn
when it is your time to lead and when it is time for
you to be the follower.
Football teaches
you the art of decision making and critical decision
making. Split-second decisions, daily, consistent
decisions.
Football is
simple. They say simplicity is beautiful and this is
a magnificent example of that: 22 players, one
objective -- to place a ball into a net
without using your hands.
Football has
many health benefits. It gives children the
opportunity to improve speed, agility, strength,
hand-eye coordination and overall cardio-vascular
endurance.
Football builds
relationships. It is a team sport that helps build
friendships among the players. It creates bonds of
camaraderie and bestows the lifelong
benefit of generating important relationships with
others.
It confers
discipline. In football, attention to detail is
critical. One wrong step, one wrong pass, one error
can affect the outcome of a game for the
team and the individual. It teaches children the
value of practice, preparation and dedication.
Football is all
about teamwork. Every individual in the team players
a role but all team players play as a team. This is
an aspect that goes a long way
in building team spirit including in workplace and
professional life.
It inculcates a
never-give-up attitude. Bruised bodies, bruised egos
but the children continue to play to win. Overcoming
adversities with mental and physical
toughness is a valuable lesson.
